What is Micro Needling with PRP?
Micro Needling with PRP is a non-surgical treatment to rejuvenate the facial skin.
As a result of the exposure to sun, wind, cold and aging the skin loses its natural youthful appearance. The skin loses is pink warm color and develops a dull and lackluster appearance. This is due to a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin in the dermis of the skin and a decrease in the regeneration of the skin surface. Micro Needling with PRP stimulates an increase in the collagen and elastin of the dermis and a regeneration of the cells of the skin surface.

Micro Needling with PRP Procedure
Micro Needling with PRP is a two-stage process.
The first step is “micro-needling” of the skin. This is done using a pen-like device that has multiple tiny needles. These microneedles penetrate the skin at a very short controlled depth to the upper dermis. This “micro-needling does two things. It stimulates the dermis to increase the production of collagen and elastic tissue and creates microchannels from the skin to the dermis.
The second step is the application of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). A small tube of blood is drawn from the patient ( Hence the name Vampire Face Lift). The blood is centrifuged for the production of PRP. The PRP is then applied to the skin. This penetrates into the dermis through the channels created by the micro-needling. This Platelet Rich Plasma contains multiple tissue and cell growth factors that stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and cell growth and regeneration.
This combined process rejuvenates a new youthful skin.
Is This Treatment Painful?
Micro Needling with PRP is done by initially applying a topical anesthetic gel to the face. The skin becomes numb so this is essentially a painless procedure.
What is the Recovery Time?
Recovery time is minimal. There is no pain. There may be a slight pink color of the skin the next day. It is best to avoid direct sun exposure. The patient can resume normal activity.
